Background:
Bhola
District Welfare Association of America (BDWAA) is a non-government social development organization working with Bengalis
in the State of New York, and in Bhola, Bangladesh. BDWAA was established in 2006 by a group of social worker, educationalist
and development professional to fight poverty, give them a place to live, and a better life. We will participate in any
event in North America in association with other State registered Organization for national unity and cause. We will
promote real Democracy and Human rights in Bangladesh along with Humanitarian help.
Mission Statement:
Bhola District Welfare Association of America
(BDWAA) will unite Bangladesh origin in the state of New York. Observe all national holidays and events of USA and Bangladesh.
Our mission is also to work with marginalized people and community for their social and economic empowerment by promoting
education, employement, health, enviroment, human rights, and shelter.
Committee
We have a general body of 65 members consisting of educationalist,
lawyer, journalist, and social worker, who are responsible for the comittee of BDWAA and elect a 17 members executive board
to govern the organization.
Legal Status
BDWAA is registered under section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation
Law. This corporation is a corporation as defined in subparagraph (a)(5) of Section 102(Definitions) of the Not-for-Profit
Corporation Law. The office of the corporation is to be located in the County of Queens State of New York.
